Banks See Healthcare as an Opportunity
Conference explores the possibilities The issue of how existing online banking networks could be used to ease the exchange of healthcare information will be addressed at a "medical banking" conference in Atlanta Feb. 28-March 2.The Medical Banking Institute is sponsored by the HIMSS Medical Banking Project. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, which recently acquired the project, also holds its annual convention in Atlanta Feb. 28-March 4.
The institute will kick off Sunday, Feb. 28, with a half-day "boot camp" that offers basic sessions on the role banks can play in healthcare information exchange. One session at the boot camp will dive into the privacy and security issues involved.
