Podcasts: You Should Hear What You're Missing

And then, through the magic of podcasting, I get to share these conversations with you.

For those of you who still haven't sampled our podcasts, and maybe think they sound a little too much like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," let me demystify them a bit. Don't be scared away by the name; we're simply talking about interviews. Podcasts are electronic recordings of interviews or monologues, and - on our sites, at least - you have the option to listen to them in streaming audio or download them to play on your iPod or other MP3 player. We even give you written transcripts, so you can read the text if you're just not an audio person.

For those of you who still haven't sampled our podcasts, and maybe think they sound a little too much like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," let me demystify them a bit.

That said, let me share with you two conversations I've had just this week:

  • Enterprise Risk Management: How to Engage Your Board of Directors - This is a conversation with Pete Fahrenthold, who heads Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for Continental Airlines. You may wonder 'What does Continental Airlines have to do with financial services?' But please don't let Pete's industry turn you away. He's got some great insights on how to engage a board of directors - and keep it engaged - on ERM and information security.

  • Gartner's John Pescatore on 2010 Threats, Trends - The title says it all. Pescatore is one of the real visionaries in information security - he's truly watched the profession come of age - and in this interview he offers unique insight into the security threats posed by the remote workforce, ubiquitous connectivity and social networking.

All these and more, as we say. Please check out our suite of podcast interviews and stay tuned for more, many more in the days ahead.
