As organizations collect more consumer data during the COVID-19 pandemic, how can they protect it? Peter Yapp, former deputy director at the UK’s National Cyber Security Center, provides insights.

One key step, he stresses, is using network segmentation as part of a stronger security infrastructure. “Once an attacker has gotten into a network, the flatter the network, the easier it is to traverse around the world,” he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Yapp discusses:

Yapp is a partner at UK-based law firm Schillings, where he leads a cyber defense group. Formerly deputy director at the UK’s National Cyber Security Center, he specializes in providing cybersecurity incident advice to a broad range of organizations.
