Using artificial intelligence and machine learning in cybersecurity has pitfalls, says McAfee's Steve Grobman, who describes appropriate steps to take.

"On the adversarial use of AI, cybercriminals are using the technology just like legitimate businesses to make them more effective at their criminal activity," he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco, Grobman discusses:

  • Problems unique to security with AI and ML;
  • Countering the use of machine learning by adversaries;
  • Protecting AI and ML systems.

Grobman is senior vice president and CTO for McAfee. Previously, he spent over two decades in senior technical leadership positions related to the field of cybersecurity at Intel.
