Transforming Your Cyber Defense Strategies With AI
Nayaki Nayyar of Securonix on AI's Dual Impact on CybersecurityAs businesses increasingly integrate artificial intelligence into their cybersecurity strategies, they encounter a double-edged sword. At the World Economic Forum this year, more than 55% of respondents believed attackers benefit more from AI, which is alarming, said Nayaki Nayyar, CEO of Securonix.

"AI democratizes the entire concept. Now, threat actors who are not that skilled or do not have deep technical knowledge or experience can leverage generative AI to be able to launch malicious attacks - disruptive, targeted attacks. That was never there before," Nayyar said.
In the face of such threats, it is important for enterprises to adopt AI quickly. "We must embrace AI not just as a tool but as a fundamental component of our cybersecurity frameworks to effectively defend against AI-powered attacks," she said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Nayyar also discussed:
- Adaptive defense strategies to develop responsive cybersecurity measures;
- Enhanced threat detection through AI;
- Quantum computing challenges.
Nayyar has more than 25 years of experience in driving digital transformation and innovation at software companies. She previously served as the president and chief product officer at Ivanti, where she was responsible for cybersecurity, automation, edge and endpoint device management, and service management. Prior to Ivanti, she served in leadership roles at SAP, BMC Software and Valero Energy.
